What is Excel Health Plans?
Excel Health Plans is a managed care organization. We were established in 2021, and we bring high performing health plans to small and mid-market employers that are looking for higher quality, lower cost benefits for their employees.
How is Excel Health Plans different?
We are different in that we address three different areas of the health plan: the employer, the broker partner, and the employees that are ultimately consuming the care. The biggest driver that differentiates us in the marketplace is that we use a disappearing deductible to realign the economic incentives of the health plan. We do this by pairing it with member navigation so we're easing the stress of navigating the ever complex healthcare system. Ultimately, our goal is to get the members the right care at the right time, at the right price, hopefully with no cost. And so with the disappearing deductible, we offer $0 cost share to the members for many services across our health plan, be it imaging, elective surgery, over 1200 specialty maintenance name brand medications and generics on our plans are always a dollar. The benefit to our clients themselves is that by having the increased transparency by moving to a self-funded or level funded model is now you can start to make data-driven decisions rather than just taking the renewal that your carrier is currently offering with no insight as to how the plan has been performing. The advantages to our benefit consultants is that we streamline everything from the census-based underwriting, we can often turn around quotes inside of 48 hours, with our standardized plan options, it leads to simpler, faster conversations with decision makers that are thinking about converting from their currently fully insured arrangement. We also have a service team that's dedicated to supporting our benefits consultants. In that, we service their back office and take care of anything service-related that would typically go to the TPA or PBM.
