What is CareFlash?
CareFlash is a solution that was born out of a lengthy family caretaking journey that I had in my own family. At the time, I was a busy CFO of a software company, and as I continued to reflect on the landscape that I was traveling as a caregiver where appetite, sleep quality, engagement at work are all compromised by someone who is going to be effective as a caregiver, I continued to reflect that I had the power as a CFO to do many things that most employees don't have the ability to influence. I was allocating responsibilities and deferring deadlines, and I was tweaking things that most employees are challenged by, and when you're in that type of a chair, you're traveling that type of a journey, the last thing that you want to come to grips with is the fact that your workplace still has expectations of you as a family caregiver, and CareFlash offers a solution that's called Careopolis. Founded in 2005, this is a tool that is compelling around any aging or healing journey, chronic or cognitive or behavioral illness, even celebrating the memory of a lost loved one.
How is CareFlash different?
The Careopolis contains components and content that are conducive for helping friends and loved ones become more naturally and maybe more importantly, more durably engaged as a supportive fabric of encouragement and resilience and empowerment. Basically, leveraging a variety of components, for instance, there is an interactive calendar, an interactive storytelling tool, blog, and 3D medical animations and photo and video-sharing tools and other things are built into the Careopolis, which is a private invitation-only secure component that employees create. It's completely created and operated by an employee and it's compelling and unique in helping to engage their friends and their loved ones in their journey.
Who is a good fit for CareFlash?
CareFlash works with hundreds of organizations. There is a few listed on the slide here, but any organization generally in excess of 100 employees that wants to create a destination workplace. They see the importance of workplace culture and employee empowerment, and they come to grips with the reality that when employees are traveling the journey of a caregiver in their family, there's so little that the employer can do.
