What is Northstar?
Northstar is a holistic financial wellness benefit that guides employees through key financial and life decisions and helps them make the most of their compensation and benefits. We are on a mission of providing financial wellness to the 100% and to support employees from all backgrounds and incomes when it comes to their financial journey, because finances impact all of us. Here at Northstar, our model is grounded in our 1-on-1 financial advisor approach, where we match each employee with a dedicated CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERâ„¢ to build empathy and trust. Employees are also empowered on financial decision-making by leveraging our personal finance, total compensation, and education-based tools.
How is Northstar different?
Unlike traditional financial advisor models, our advisors do not earn any commission or referral fees. They are salaried employees of Northstar, and Northstar does not have any assets under management. This ensures that our financial advisors are working in employees' best interests versus padding their own pockets. We are also focused on the 100%, not just the 1%. We are working with employees around the world, from those making minimum wage to highly paid executives, and helping employees with diverse needs, including cashflow management, loan payoff, evaluating health plan options, saving for retirement, understanding equity, family planning, and more. Finally, because of our intentional model and partnership approach, we are proud to drive over 70% engagement, with employees averaging 10 interactions per year, and it's each of these differentiators that helps position Northstar to be a key part of the wellness equation for employers.

Today, we support companies of all sizes and industries. A few of our clients include Zoom, Talking Rain, NerdWallet, and eHealth. We are working with companies as small as 20 employees to those with tens of thousands of employees. The common denominator across all these organizations is that they are progressive in their benefits philosophy and they recognize that personal finances are the number one stressor for people today, and that employees really need help.
