What is Exemplary Health?

Employers are having a very difficult time providing affordable healthcare to their employees. They come to us because we can solve this problem for them. Exemplary Health offers a fully-integrated health plan to self-funded employers. Embedded within these plans are a robust population health management program that uses state-of-the-art analytics and member engagement. It accomplishes three things: reduces cost, improves clinical outcomes, and increases the member experience to a concierge level.

How is Exemplary Health different?

Three ways that differentiate us from our competitors. One being physician-owned and physician-led changes everything. We have a focus on the member first, helping that member get the right care at the right location. Our data shows this creates lower costs and better clinical outcomes. Secondly, we own the pre-authorization process. Members are often frustrated with delays. With Exemplary Health, we normally approve requests within 48 hours. Thirdly, our member experience is different. Let me give you an example. We have a member who needed an important medication, but it was expensive, and she couldn't afford it due to her high deductible in her plan. Our clinical team worked with her physician who agreed to change the prescription to an equally effective but far less expensive medication. The employer's costs were reduced, and the member was able to receive that medication at zero cost.

Who is a good fit for Exemplary Health?

There are four common traits that we see. We understand change is hard, and our clients span a variety of businesses, but all share these four traits. Number one, they have between 100 and 1,000 employees. Number two, they often have employees in multiple states or high cost states. From the personality perspective, they're frustrated with paying ever-increasing premiums with little or no data. They feel additional increases are going to hurt their efforts to attract new employees. And lastly, they don't have confidence in the carrier model anymore. They understand the difference between buying a one-year insurance policy and having a health plan that is well-managed over the long term.
