What is Andel?

Andel is a healthcare technology platform that enables employers to provide affordable access to cash pay medications, starting with GLP-1 therapies that are increasingly excluded from traditional pharmacy benefit coverage. How is Andel different?

Our cooperative model, based on the Danish word Andel, gives employers a direct path to pharmaceutical manufacturers, so they may access medications at lower prices with the flexibility to choose how much to contribute. Here is how we work. One, Andel acquires the medications directly from pharma manufacturers at the cash price or below. Two, Andel contracts with employers, health plans or other organizations who carve out drug classes from their fully funded plans. These entities pledge a cash contribution of anything from $100 to 100% of the drug costs with no pre-funding and absolutely no admin or PMPM fees. Three, eligible employees purchase directly on our seamless native mobile apps and get the contribution automatically applied with no coupons or other gymnastics required. All prescriptions are sent to the Andel Pharmacy NPI, so our employers have full transparency and reporting on the lifecycle of their fills. We orchestrate all the refills and other interaction between employees and prescribers and dispense through licensed, trusted partners who deliver next day via UPS.

Who is a good fit for Andel?

Andel works alongside PBMs with no need for contractual changes. We complement fully funded benefits by providing transparent pricing and greater flexibility to manage spend on expensive branded medications.
