What is Beam Benefits?

Hey, Chris. Beam Benefits is a digital-first employee benefits provider in the ancillary benefits space. Beam's crown jewel product is our digitally native approach to dental insurance, but we also provide products far beyond dental insurance these days, including vision, group life, LTD, STD, and accident, hospital and critical illness sup health products. We do this in a simple, smart and wellness-focused way, always trying to bring unique value proposition to small businesses all over the country.

How is Beam Benefits different?

Beam loves offering a really unique experience to all of our stakeholders. This is our brokers that we work with, the small business administrators, and members, of course. So a couple of ways we reflect this in our customer experience today, one is how we do quoting. Beam provides custom quotes for groups under 50 lives, and we do this really fast. Our ability to uniquely underwrite our deals help provide precise, accurate rates to the customer, and it really helps our broker partners create differentiation from the other options available in market. We also really focus on moments that matter in the customer journey, like implementation and case install. We do this under 48 hours on average. Super handy when you're implementing a group really quickly right before their effective date. And we also really care deeply about providing a best in class experience for the entire administrative experience for the small businesses that are just trying to make their benefits work to help attract and retain some talent.

Who is a good fit for Beam Benefits?

Beam's available in almost the entire country, in well over 40 states. We really focus on providing a uniquely great experience for small businesses in the country. Most of our clients have fewer than 100 lives, and Beam really likes providing a modern and tech forward approach to those smaller employers. Our general agencies, I think, are also in focus. This is a really growthy part of our business right now, and we love providing unique tools that help general agencies grow with Beam as well. And we're providing a really great ease of use experience for tech forward brokers. The brokers that we love working with tend to be looking for solutions that help them run their businesses more efficiently and more scalably, so Beam ends up appealing to those brokers in particular, especially those that have a lot of small groups in their book of business.
