What is Juno?

Juno Child Disability Insurance is a first of its kind insurance benefit that provides life-changing financial protection if a child age zero to 26 develops a severe illness, injury or disability. So the issue that we're solving for is really the long-term caregiving needs in the aftermath of a severe disability or illness that a child faces. So medical insurance will take care of hospital stays, medical expenses like therapy, and millions of dollars of cost associated with the medical care. But what parents are left with is the other expenses related to long-term caregiving, like special equipment, travel to appointments and in-home childcare so that they can continue to work. If it's something like cancer or a car accident in college and a child is left paralyzed, all of those things are unexpected and result in lifelong care giving in most cases, which is what we want to help working parents with.

How is Juno different?

So leading employers offer health, life, and disability insurance, but long-term financial support for parents when a child becomes severely ill or disabled has been missing. So Juno bridges this gap by providing a significant cash benefit for qualifying families that can be used on anything to help. Further, Juno provides a pathway for parents in these situations that hasn't been available before. So they can choose to remain in the workforce and use the cash benefit to pay for help at home or leave the workforce to care for the child and have income replacement.

Who is a good fit for Juno?

So, Juno is an ideal solution for any employer with 200 or more employees that seeks to innovate on family benefits, support working parents' careers, and provide a financial safety net for working parents. So child disability insurance is a natural compliment to existing life and long-term disability benefits as it protects employees from the low likelihood events that have a major impact on them and their employers.
